Visited today with friends and had a pleasant relaxed lunch. The food was superb and we were made to feel very welcome. We have been on several occasions now, and it's well worth the drive over. The place is quirky, homely, the menu refreshingly varied and very reasonably priced. We can recommend the lamb shank and fish pie. As for the pudding menu, spoilt for choice!

Stayed nearby, so stumbled across what I consider a once in a lifetime hidden gem., Quiet classical music playing, quiz cards on every table....that was me hooked! Lasagna was one of the best meals I've had....and I've eaten posh in London before! Booked again for Sunday dinner and was not disappointed, can be very fussy with my beef, but this was soft and no fat. Loved this place very very reasonable prices, would highly recommend.....but book first.

We love this place. Visit on a regular basis. We have gotten to know the owners over the last three years. They are very welcoming and make you feel part of the family. It's their home and comes with a lot of character and charm. Food is absolutely outstanding. Always well cooked and fresh. The prices are spot on. It's not over the top and is well worth every penny. Due to it being so popular, it's advisable to book in advance to avoid disappointment . Service can sometimes be slow but the food is well worth the wait. Highly recommend for a visit.

Just had a family meal at The old vicarage. Three of us had Sunday dinner and one had steak and chips with the trimmings. Followed by puddings. The service was friendly and second to none. The meal was well cooked and good portions. We all cleared plates. The puddings were generous and delicious. All washed down with some real ale and wine. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal and it was reasonably priced. Well done to the staff - top class effort.
